International House Sydney is the industry leader in both teaching English to international students and training teachers to lead those classrooms.
Our history began over 30 years ago, first in Manly and then Sydney’s CBD. Since then, we have expanded to Bondi, Darwin, Melbourne, Byron Bay and the Gold Coast, bringing quality and excellence in education and service to more and more students across Australia.
English language proficiency is an increasingly important requirement for a successful career in our globalised world. International House Sydney is here to help you to further your skills and achieve your goals with English. With a full range of English programs taught by experienced and highly trained teachers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, you are assured of a rewarding experience.
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is fulfilling and challenging. It provides an opportunity to experience new cultures and is a profession experiencing enormous growth – both in Australia and overseas. However, in order to teach English overseas and in Australia, having the right TESOL qualification is important. Quality schools will be looking for teachers with qualifications that are recognised worldwide, and by choosing to study at International House Sydney, you will have access to prestigious TESOL courses such as the Cambridge University CELTA and the Certificate IV in TESOL dual qualification. These qualifications will give you the freedom to work at the institute and location of your choice, rather than restricting you to fewer schools.
We are part of the International House World Organisation.
International House is one of the largest and oldest groups of language schools in the world. Founded in 1953, the organisation provides an innovative approach for learning English and other languages. We are a global network of 140 language schools in more than 50 countries. All IH schools are independently owned and managed and are members of IH because they are committed to the very highest standards in language education face-to-face and online. Across our network, IH schools train about half of all CELTA graduates in the world. We have well over 200,000 students, and our schools employ in excess of 5,800 teachers.
